Sponsors and Exhibitors General Information

On behalf of The American Academy of Cardiovascular Perfusion I would like to thank you for your interest in becoming a Corporate Sponsoring Member or Exhibitor for the Annual Seminar this upcoming February 5-8, 2020 in Reno, Nevada at the Grand Sierra Resort.

The purpose of the Academy is to encourage and stimulate investigation and study which will increase the knowledge of cardiovascular perfusion, to correlate and disseminate such knowledge. All scientific presentations are submitted to the journal Perfusion, for consideration for publication. The American Academy is limited to 200 Fellows, and consists of a large percentage of Chief Perfusionists.

The annual meeting consists of special scientific panel sessions, scientific paper sessions, small group discussions called fireside chats and a hands-on workshop. The format for this year’s meeting will be the same as last year. We have full days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. No Sunday sessions and some small room options for Wednesday afternoon.

The Hands-On Workshop is a two-and-one-half hour workshop during which time we ask each Sponsoring Member and exhibitor to display their newest products or devices. It is a casual atmosphere where perfusionists can obtain a better understanding of the product directly from the manufacturer in a hands-on setting.  This should not be an exhibit of the manufacturer’s entire product line. We ask that you limit it to your newest products. We are trying to increase your exposure and face time with the attendees. The Thursday night Hands-On Workshop format will have added features to increase your time with the attendees.

We will be putting on a themed event during the Sponsor’s Workshop on Thursday, February 6th. This event will be centered on team bonding with all Perfusionists attending the conference with the goal of allowing sponsors to have more face time with each of our attendees. This event will place all attendees of the conference into groups which will act as teams. Each team will be comprised of a multigenerational makeup, with very senior members of the AACP to our students of their respective perfusion education programs.

During the Sponsor’s Workshop on Thursday evening, each group will work together as a team to spend time with each sponsor and learn about their product. After each visit with a sponsor, the teams will rotate clockwise around the room to make sure they meet with every sponsor during the workshop. Each sponsor will have 8 minutes of direct face time with each of the teams. These teams will have Captains (Fellows of the AACP) that will make sure the team stays together and engaged with each sponsor. Using a simple grading system provided by the program committee, each sponsor will grade the interaction and experience received by the sponsor with each team. The results of each team’s visit will be tabulated at the conclusion of the night to determine the overall winner.

There is a manufacturers’ session one afternoon that will be divided among the sponsors to present information to the general audience. We have some breakout rooms available on Wednesday afternoon that we are also offering to our sponsors on a first-come, first-served basis as we have in the past. There is no charge for the room. If you need any AV or refreshments, you will be charged our discounted rate.
